Your job in a nutshell
I’m part of our client-facing team, making sure both you and your adviser have all the information you need for advice meetings. Speaking to a real person on the phone is getting rarer these days, so I hope I help give clients a great experience when they work with Ginkgo.
Tell me about your first paid job?
My first job was working in a bakery after school and on Saturday mornings when I was 15. The best bit was taking the leftovers home - I was very popular with my sisters, especially if there were sausage rolls.
What led you to where you are now?
A long overdue career change. When I saw the role come up, I was instantly taken by the flexibility of it and couldn’t wait to apply!
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
I expect it would’ve been a record. Given it was during the 80s, it’s probably for the best I can’t remember what song it was!
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I’d buy a house overlooking the beach in Australia, my homeland. It would be big enough for all my UK friends and family to stay when they visited.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Funny, strong, determined
What advice would you give to your younger self?
You are stronger than you think and smarter than you know. Trust your instincts.
What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
I’m a people person, so chatting with clients and getting to know them better is a real pleasure. I work with a great team and love the flexible hours and walkable commute.
