Your job in a nutshell
My main role is to build community connections in and around Greenwich and Blackheath —whether that’s through local events, supporting brilliant grassroots projects, or just having good conversations with people who care about making a difference. We want to local families to feel more confident about their financial future, so it’s my job to make sure they know we’re here and. Through Grow with Ginkgo, champion initiatives that really matter to local people.
Tell me about your first paid job?
Whilst at school I had a Saturday job in a local bakery – I was very popular with the neighbours when I came home with left-overs!
What led you to where you are now?
I left school not really knowing what I wanted to do but landed a job as an Events Co-ordinator and absolutely loved it! I worked in events and marketing for various industries, which gave me the knowledge and experience to help with our own family business, which we recently sold.
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
I’m a girl that loves shoes - I bought a pair of Doctor Martins!
What’s your retirement dream?
To grow old and happy with my husband, travel as much as possible and be on hand for the kids in whatever way they need me.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Be more confident and know that you don’t have to be strong all of the time.
What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
The lovely working environment! It's so comforting being back in a workplace that feels like a family. As staff we are valued and in return we all work hard to help the business grow.
