Your job in a nutshell
I offer technical and administrative support to the advisers (preparing reports, ensuring compliance, etc.)
Tell me about your first paid job?
While completing my studies, I worked at a popular pizzeria in Cape Town. Most of the staff were also students in their late teens / early 20s, so it was a really fun experience!
What led you to where you are now?
My husband and I love experiencing new things and love to travel. So, after completing our studies and a few years of work experience, we took the leap of relocating to the UK from South Africa. I have a background in Finance, which made it easy to wiggle my way into Ginkgo!
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
It was probably a chocolate of some sort – I could never resist a sweet treat!
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would probably take an early retirement and buy a house surrounded by mountains and woods. My husband and I would take the opportunity to travel, and I would love to open my own animal rescue.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Be patient, and let things fall into place when they need to. Life happens at its own pace, and things will unfold when they are ready to.
What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
The Ginkgo team is very collaborative and never afraid to ask each other for help. It is such a wonderful environment to be in every day.
