Your job in a nutshell
To be a great listener, taking the time to understand each individual’s unique circumstances and aspirations. To build strong, trusting relationships with my clients, and treat them with sensitivity and empathy. And to help them put plans in place that help them gain clarity and take control.
Tell me about your first paid job?
A paper round for the local paper, it was not my finest hour! I hated it!
What led you to where you are now?
After many years working in policy and project management, I needed a change. I joined Ginkgo on the processing team and got a taste for the world of finance. It’s been fantastic to progress with Ginkgo to become a fully-fledged adviser.
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
A beautiful painting of a Kingfisher. It was a treat to myself after some difficult times.
What’s your retirement dream?
Lots of time with my family and friends, some seaside holidays and space for reading and music. Simple but heavenly!
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
They said…compassionate, creative and emotionally intelligent.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Believe in yourself, be kind and the rest will follow.
What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
It’s supportive, family focused set-up - it feels really special to be part of a family run firm, that has the best interests of the families it cares for, at its core.
