About Rachael

If you're looking for someone to help you get organised, feel in control, and plan for what matters most, I'd be glad to help.

I work with people who are starting their financial journey or "putting down roots"—whether that's setting up pensions and savings, making a will or Power of Attorney, or understanding how best to protect your family. Many of my clients are facing big life transitions, dealing with bereavement or care needs, or simply ready to start putting financial plans in place after years of meaning to get around to it.

My job is to listen carefully, explain things clearly, and help you move forward at your own pace. Clients tell me they appreciate my calm, structured approach and that I help reduce the overwhelm that often comes with financial decisions.

I also lead Ginkgo's probate support service. If you're navigating the difficult process of managing a loved one's estate, I can help you understand what needs to happen and support you through each step with empathy and care.

Before becoming a financial adviser, I worked in services for older people and those living with dementia. I'm also a carer myself—first for my mum, and now as a parent-carer. That experience shapes how I work: I listen carefully, explain clearly, and always aim to reduce overwhelm rather than add to it.

At Ginkgo, we're a multi-adviser team with a range of expertise. If your needs are more complex or specialised, we'll help you transition to the right colleague. You can meet the wider team on our team page.

Outside work, I love painting, music and long seaside walks. I'm also involved in Grow with Ginkgo—our community programme focused on helping families and neighbourhoods thrive across South East London.

If you're ready to take your next financial step, I'd be honoured to help.

Your job in a nutshell
To be a great listener, taking the time to understand each individual’s unique circumstances and aspirations. To build strong, trusting relationships with my clients, and treat them with sensitivity and empathy. And to help them put plans in place that help them gain clarity and take control.

Tell me about your first paid job?
A paper round for the local paper, it was not my finest hour! I hated it!

What led you to where you are now?
After many years working in policy and project management, I needed a change. I joined Ginkgo on the processing team and got a taste for the world of finance. It’s been fantastic to progress with Ginkgo to become a fully-qualified adviser.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
A beautiful painting of a Kingfisher. It was a treat to myself after some difficult times.

What’s your retirement dream?
Lots of time with my family and friends, some seaside holidays and space for reading and music. Simple but heavenly!

What three words would your friends use to describe you?
They said…compassionate, creative and emotionally intelligent.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Believe in yourself, be kind and the rest will follow.

What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
It’s supportive, family focused set-up - it feels really special to be part of a family run firm, that has the best interests of the families it cares for, at its core.
