Your job in a nutshell
I build and nurture our relationships with private clients and the other professionals we work with. It’s not just about winning new business: we want to make sure we’re doing our best for everyone.
Tell me about your first paid job?
At school, I had a weekend job at a well-known stationers. I remember giving it my all and really enjoying feeling so grown up. I worked there for over two years and made some lovely friends.
What led you to where you are now?
At the age of 21, I started off as an adviser on the new client team of a market-leading contractor payroll provider. Within two years, I was team leader, managing a team of 10. I worked there until I started a family in 2014. Joining Ginkgo in 2015 gave me a chance to balance work and family life. Family is so important in terms of our clients, as well as to the team personally.
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
I remember walking into a record shop as an excited teenager and buying four CDs. I couldn’t wait to get home and listen to them – they were played over and over and over again!
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Positive, driven, chatty.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
That hard work and commitment towards any task will inch you towards achieving your goals – even if it doesn’t seem obvious how at the time.
What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
I love talking to clients and getting to the bottom of what they need. Ginkgo is a really supportive place to work: everyone is friendly, approachable and helpful.
