Lorraine Halmeida - Ginkgo Financial Ltd

Lorraine Hume-Almeida Accounts (part time)

Your job in a nutshell
I manage the bookkeeping and payroll for Ginkgo Financial.

Tell me about your first paid job?
I worked for a Canadian publishing house (medical journals) in Oxford Street on a one-year project to implement a new computer system.

What led you to where you are now?
Having worked for two global investment banks for 28 years in total (as an Accountant, Business Analyst and Project Manager), I needed a change of environment. I now work four days a week for a London-based charity that helps young people realise their potential, and one day a week for Ginkgo. I enjoy the balance of working in two different sectors.

What's the most frivolous thing you've ever bought?
Probably a diamond that I had made into a ring and diamond earrings that I rarely wear.

What would you do if you won the lottery?
I’d buy a house in Broadstairs, help my family and friends, and give to charity.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Loyal, positive, smiling.

What’s the best thing about working at Ginkgo?
Ginkgo has a great team. It’s lovely to work with friendly and professional colleagues.
